In 2016, at Streaks Matriculation School in Ooty, Pari Mukhilan “Pari”, a charismatic student and accomplished football player, shares his high school classroom with Pravin Kishore as Sabari Karthikeyan, a studious artist and chess enthusiast. Initially, Pari mocks and bullies Sabari, but over time they develop a deeper understanding of each other, uncovering a surprising mutual respect born from their different talents and dreams.
During a school trip to a nearby tribal village, a bus accident disrupts the journey. Sabari, still recovering from illness and wrestling with asthma, is trapped. Pari summons courage to pull him to safety, but the injuries prove fatal, leaving him brain-dead and mourned by the entire school. Sabari grapples with remorse, realizing he never properly thanked Pari for saving his life. Pari’s heart, along with other donated organs, gives new life to five people, one of whom is Praveena. Inspired by Pari’s selflessness and moved by the opportunity to honor him, Praveena transfers to Pari’s school, where she notices Sabari’s fixation on Pari’s belongings and the memories they share. As Sabari begins to honor Pari’s memory in his own way, he abandons chess for show jumping, a passion Pari had loved. After a disappointing loss in the show jumping competition, Sabari disappears, and Praveena’s worry deepens.
Seven years pass before Sabari is seen riding solo through the Himalayas. Praveena, now immersed in the Bring Back the Beasts and Butterflies initiative, joins him as a fellow rider, keeping her identity concealed. Sabari remains distant, unaware of her true connection to Pari, and eventually he leaves her without a word. A tense moment arrives when Praveena narrowly escapes a molestation attempt during an overnight stay, fleeing with help from a truck driver. Meanwhile, Sabari encounters a biking group and learns of Praveena’s ordeal; he storms after the assailant, beating him and setting out on a mission to find her. When he locates Praveena among tribal women, he offers to accompany her until she departs for Sikkim. As their journey unfolds, Praveena tries to rekindle Sabari’s passions and encourage him to live his life without the heavy shadow of Pari’s death. They meet Sid, a fellow traveler who shares his grief and reminds them that nature can be a healing force for wounds that run deep.
At the Key Temple, Praveena witnesses Sabari’s emotional breakdown, and later, in an art café, she nudges him to paint. Sabari admits that Pari’s presence never truly leaves him, and he crafts a poignant portrait of a young boy they met in Ladakh, a silent tribute to the memories that bind them. After a camel ride, Sindhu whisks Sabari away to spot a snow leopard, leaving Praveena alone overnight. The next morning, Praveena notices a subtle shift in Sabari: he has become more open and sociable. As they ride past Khardung La, a chance encounter with his former P.T. master, Thilak, now in the defense forces, stirs new questions. Thilak recognizes Praveena, prompting Sabari to piece together clues about her true identity and the recurring, cryptic hints that echo his past experiences.
In a quiet confrontation, Sabari presses Praveena to reveal who she truly is. She finally discloses a profound connection: she is the recipient of Pari’s heart, transplanted to her after the surgery, a revelation that reframes their entire journey and deepens the bond forged through loss, memory, and the unspoken hope of healing.
