American sports agent J.B. Bernstein and his partner Ash face challenges in attracting new talent to their agency. Their lack of success prompts them to explore alternative markets beyond familiar territory.

While watching Britain's Got Talent and a thrilling cricket match, J.B. devises a bold plan to tap into the Indian cricket market. He envisions a talent competition called Million Dollar Arm to discover aspiring cricket bowlers.

J.B. and Ash pitch their innovative competition idea to Chang, an Asian businessman interested in investing in athletes. Chang agrees to fund Million Dollar Arm, giving them a year to produce results.

Despite the excitement surrounding the project, Ash expresses doubt about training two cricketers from India to pitch professionally in just a year. To address this, J.B. recruits Tom House, an unconventional baseball coach.

J.B. travels to India to establish an office in Mumbai, with the essential help of local liaison Vivek. Vivek becomes crucial in navigating Indian logistics, culture, and managing the competition's various requirements.

With a lucrative prize of $100,000 at stake, J.B. launches the tryouts in Nasik. However, he faces unexpected challenges when the participants struggle to pitch beyond 45 mph, causing him considerable frustration.

Determined to find suitable talent, J.B. embarks on a week-long scouting trip across India. This leads to the discovery of two promising bowlers, Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, who both successfully pitch over 80 mph.

After a rigorous selection process, approximately twenty hopeful cricketers advance to the finals in Mumbai. J.B. dedicates himself to intensively training the finalists to ensure they shine in the competition.

As the competition concludes, Rinku emerges as the winner, although both he and Dinesh are given opportunities to pursue their dreams in the U.S. The boys' backgrounds amplify J.B.'s sense of responsibility towards their futures.

Upon arriving in the U.S., J.B. faces personal turmoil as he discovers his neighbor Brenda is now in a relationship. Despite the challenges, he introduces the boys to coach Tom House for training.

The initial training sessions with Tom House do not go well, leaving doubts about the boys' readiness for professional tryouts. J.B. and Ash confront a budget crisis as the pressure escalates.

During a party intended for business negotiations, Amit, Dinesh, and Rinku accidentally disrupt J.B.'s pitch to a former client, Popo. This mishap results in a lost opportunity, adding to J.B.'s frustration.

With crucial tryouts looming in November, J.B. feels the pressure to prepare Dinesh and Rinku adequately. Despite Tom's warnings about overwhelming their potential, he must push forward amidst high expectations.

At the high-stakes tryouts, both Dinesh and Rinku struggle under pressure, leading to a disappointing performance. However, Chang surprises J.B. by extending their contract, believing in their future potential despite the setback.

J.B. decides to give Dinesh and Rinku one last chance despite Chang's threats to pull funding. With support from Ray, they secure a meeting with the head scout from the Pittsburgh Pirates and impressively earn contracts.
