Jan and his wife Sara host a German Christmas as their family converges. Sara, Jan’s second wife, has three ex‑husbands—Gunnar, Andi and Erich—and they share children from previous marriages. The guest list balloons to include exes, partners and Jan’s ex‑wife Eva, and tensions flare when Sara announces she’s pregnant, just as Jan keeps his vasectomy a secret.
