Masooda

In 1989, in Chittoor, Fardeen secretly helps his younger brother Faizal flee the village. A mysterious woman chases them through sugarcane fields and detains them, taking them to a ruined bungalow in the forest. Their relative Nargis informs Mir, the brothers' elder brother, who then heads out to rescue them.

As Mir and Nargis rush to the bungalow, a heavy rain and a falling tree trigger a deadly accident. The crash injures Nargis and damages her eye, complicating the rescue effort. The family senses a looming, unseen danger even as they hurry to save Faizal and Fardeen.

The mysterious woman uses Black magic on Fardeen and Faizal and enlists another to help with a human sacrifice. The ritual marks the start of Masooda's malignant influence that will haunt the family for years. Mir and Nargis later uncover this dark past while seeking to protect their kin.

In 1991, Masooda Bi is murdered by her husband Khaja in a building behind Neelam and Gopi's Hyderabad apartment, and Khaja disappears. The corpse is buried and later moved, sowing a haunting mystery that will resurface decades later. The family only learns of this long-buried crime much later as they connect the dots.

In 1999, Mir and Nargis arrive at a Hyderabad building bearing a divine Chaadar and a dagger to confront Masooda. They encounter several acquaintances under the spell of Black Magic, behaving insanely. The next morning, a woman’s corpse is found tied to a tree, signaling the continuing danger.

Khaja digs Masooda's grave and removes her corpse, intending to revive her using Black Magic, but the plan backfires and kills him. Before dying, he reveals the location of Masooda’s corpse. Mir and Nargis bury Masooda again and hide the Chaadar and dagger in the bungalow.

In 2022, Neelam and her daughter Nazia become tenants in an apartment behind the building where Masooda was murdered. Their confidant is their neighbor Gopi, who works in software and is pursued by his colleague Mini. Nazia begins displaying unsettling, ghostly behavior.

Neelam and Gopi seek help from Alauddin, assistant to Rizwan Baba, who provides a Ta'wiz to be tied on Nazia’s hand. Rizwan claims the ritual could positively affect her state, while doctors in the hospital declare Nazia's mental condition normal. The plan signals a shift from medical to spiritual intervention.

Nazia’s teacher taunts her for scoring the least in exams and says the Ta'wiz cannot help her. Nazia discards the Ta'wiz, allowing the supernatural force to regain control. Nazia even stabs Gopi, prompting concern and a push toward more drastic remedies.

Gopi travels to Chittoor to learn more about Mir and Masooda. He meets Nargis, who initially resists help but agrees after Nazia’s distress is explained. He discovers a portrait of a woman found in Abdul’s home and Mir’s house, realizing Abdul is Mir’s son and Nazia is Abdul’s granddaughter.

Nargis narrates Mir’s family history: a prosperous sugarcane farmer with Khaja, Fardeen, and Faizal. Masooda’s Black Magic and her affair with Khaja drive the tragedy, causing diseases in the village. The family fights back, but two sacrifices seal Masooda’s hold on them.

Rizwan determines Nazia is under Masooda’s influence via the bracelet tied to Masooda’s murder site. Neelam and Gopi prepare to perform the ritual by placing the Chaadar on Masooda’s corpse at 2 AM, while Alauddin helps by removing the bracelet.

During the ritual, Masooda’s spirit attacks Gopi; Nazia’s mind battles the possession while Alauddin intervenes to protect them. Gopi uses the dagger to stab the spirit, and the Chaadar is laid over Masooda’s corpse, weakening her hold. Nazia is freed as the bracelet is removed.

Rizwan praises Gopi and Neelam for their courage as the immediate danger subsides. Gopi narrates the entire story to Mini, who reconciles with him, but Masooda’s presence lingers to haunt them all.
