Man of La Mancha

In 16th‑century Spain, poet‑playwright Miguel de Cervantes and his servant are seized by the Inquisition for an offending performance. Imprisoned in a massive dungeon, fellow inmates stage a mock trial, planning to confiscate and burn his treasured manuscript. To protect it, Cervantes mounts an elaborate defense, reenacting the tale of Don Quixote with costumes, makeup and the prisoners’ help, turning the trial into a theatrical spectacle.
