In 1960 Mali, youthful energy and rock and roll music from the West fuel dreams of political change. Samba, a young socialist, encounters Lara during a mission, and he falls for her spirited nature. To avoid a forced marriage, she runs away with him to the city. However, her husband pursues them, and the realities of the Revolution bring disillusionment as they face an uncertain future together.
