After fleeing the orphanage, a teenage girl is drawn into prostitution. In this drama by Gustav Ehmck, she later places a tiny bundle on railway tracks, only for an older woman to rescue the infant just before a train arrives. The rescuer adopts the child, Sophie, and raises her to become a well‑behaved girl.
