Thirty years after the human‑Zentradi war, the UN tests new transformable fighter prototypes on the colony Eden. Former childhood friends and test pilots Isamu Alva Dyson and mixed‑heritage Guld Goa Bowman each fly a rival craft—the Shinsei YF‑19 and General Galaxy YF‑21—in Project Super Nova, a competition to replace the VF‑11 Thunderbolt. Their lingering rivalry sabotages the trials and threatens the program.
