The film opens with the death of Pramodh, a renowned neurologist, setting a grave tone for the story. While Kumaran chases a petty thief, he witnesses Dheena murder his wife in a moment of shocking impulsivity. The murder shatters the surface of Dheena’s character and signals a broader danger behind seemingly random crimes. Kumaran’s pursuit of Dheena begins here.

Dheena corners Kumaran and knocks him out; in the ensuing struggle Kumaran fatally wounds Dheena. The confrontation marks Kumaran’s descent into a darker, more personal pursuit. The act ties the line between lawman and killer, driving the investigation forward.

Kumaran meets psychiatrist Aadhirai, who judges him medically unfit to rejoin the police force. The diagnosis introduces a neurological perspective that will shape the case and Kumaran’s own decisions. The encounter plants the seed for later therapy-driven redemption.

Months later, Kumaran experiences PTSD-like symptoms that hamper his judgment. Aadhirai treats his condition and helps him regain control of his mind. The therapy becomes a turning point, restoring his investigative edge.

A famous actress named Vishma is murdered, following a similar pattern to the earlier crime. Kumaran visits the crime scene and notices bloodstains that mirror the first killing and recognizes the same brand of cigarette left by the killer. The discoveries push him to connect the murders to a single mastermind.

During the investigation, Kumaran meets Rudhran and introduces Aadhirai to him as a motivational speaker. The introduction widens the circle of people involved and foreshadows Rudhran’s importance to the case. The team begins to explore the memory-tech thread behind the murders.

Kumaran uncovers a lead pointing to Gopi, a makeup artist, as the primary suspect because both killer’s behavior and the pattern point back to him. He notes that Dheena and Gopi behaved differently in the days before the murders, suggesting a hidden secret. The investigation tightens around Gopi as the potential mastermind.

Gopi attempts to flee and jumps to his death before he can confess. The loss of a key suspect leaves Kumaran with fewer direct clues and a deeper puzzle about motive and mechanism. The case moves beyond ordinary crime toward a larger, more insidious pattern.

Another scientist, Narayanan, is murdered, widening the scope of victims. While examining Narayanan’s home, Kumaran finds a book written by Rudhran, hinting at a hidden link. Rudhran’s increasingly erratic behavior—his dog’s hostility and his surprising smoking habit—begins to solidify his connection to the killings.

Kumaran confronts Rudhran and learns of a cold-blooded side when Rudhran kills his own dog. During interrogation, Rudhran signs the FIR with a wrong name, then corrects it to his own, and Kumaran notices the first sign reads Pramodh. This clue ties Rudhran directly to Pramodh and the larger memory-theory at play.

A brief investigation reveals Pramodh was involved in Project Maayavan, a memory-storing system intended to transfer memories into another person’s brain. The project uses a gel injected into the brain with nanotransmitters to attach memories to neurons, potentially allowing consciousness to outlive a body. This revelation reframes the case as a dangerous science experiment rather than random crime.

Pramodh transfers his memories into a hard drive and, after taking his own life, those memories migrate into Dheena, then Gopi, and finally Rudhran. Kumaran realizes the killer is now a vessel for Pramodh’s consciousness, directing a chain of murders through living bodies. The investigation shifts from following clues to stopping a memory-propagation plot.

Pramodh, inhabiting Rudhran’s body, commits suicide and his memories migrate into Major Sathyan’s brain. Sathyan hints that the technology could grant a life beyond a thousand years, raising the stakes beyond murder. Kumaran realizes the danger of a consciousness-slash-immortality scheme that could threaten countless lives.

Two decades later, Kumaran is happily married to Aadhirai and they celebrate their son’s birthday. He reveals that Sathyan has been trapped in a basement, kept alive as a vessel for Pramodh’s memories. The film closes on a high-stakes note, with Kumaran bearing the burden of preventing the memory-transfer cycle from continuing unchecked.
