Lulu works as a model for a young painter who attempts to seduce her. When her husband enters the studio, he suffers a fatal heart attack. She later marries the painter, who then takes his own life after learning of her ongoing affair with Dr. Schon, whose son subsequently offers Lulu employment. Lulu murders Dr. Schon, flees to London to stay with his son, descends into prostitution, and ultimately falls victim to Jack the Ripper.
