Set in Tokyo, the series follows Kei Usami, a salaryman whose engagement to Mei, the president’s wealthy daughter, ends abruptly. A sudden power outage strands him in his apartment’s elevator with three neighbours—Airu, a trilingual interpreter, Ojiro, a fashion photographer, and Masato, a psychiatrist. Their conversation turns to love and destiny, prompting them to experiment with “shuffling” their romantic pairings.
