Legacy of Lies (2020) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

The ending of "Legacy of Lies" reveals a complex web of family betrayal, power struggles, and hidden secrets. After the murder of King Chandra Pratap, the investigation uncovers that it was actually Jograaj, the Chief Minister, who killed him. Jograaj's motive was rooted in his dark past: he had helped cover up the accidental death of the king’s firstborn and was willing to kill to protect his own position and ambitions. The evidence is clear when a video shows Jograaj stabbing the king in a pool, a crime he desperately tried to hide. Throughout the story, the family’s internal conflicts escalate, with alliances shifting and secrets spilling out, culminating in a brutal confrontation between Indrani and Abhimanyu. In a dramatic climax, Indrani, supported by Kavya, kills Abhimanyu in a pool after a fierce struggle. This act marks the end of their turbulent family saga. The story leaves the future open-ended, hinting that the fallout from the murder and the political chaos could lead to further unrest, and potentially another season. The final scenes suggest that justice might be served, but in this corrupt and treacherous world, the true outcome remains uncertain, leaving viewers pondering whether the cycle of violence and betrayal will ever truly end.
