Set in Bari during the final throes of a bitter winter, a band of petty criminals prowls the suburbs day and night, chasing a mysterious package dispatched from the Balkans that is never meant to arrive. The contents—crucial to the characters—serve as a narrative key, opening a view onto a jagged, surprising urban underworld.
