Set in March 1964 Spain, three‑year‑old Quico, who sees himself as the prince of his middle‑class home, feels displaced by newborn sister Cristina. He and his eight‑year‑old brother Juan launch nonstop pranks, angering their mother, nanny and housemaid. Their authoritarian father, mother and two older brothers complete the family, while the legacy of Don Pablo’s civil‑war victory becomes, for the children, merely “Dad’s war.”
