During the late Ming Dynasty, the Bruneian Empire presents a mysterious creature to the nation as a diplomatic gift. Ocean, an agent of the Imperial Secret Police, is assigned to tame the beast, which appears formidable. However, he discovers the creature is gentle and kind. Disinclined to weaponize it for war, Ocean helps the beast escape into the wilderness and flees with Frigid, the daughter of a man wrongly executed.
