An initiate falls from a cliff on his way to a kung fu masters’ congress and is rescued by the beautiful Tien Lam (Anita Mui), who rides a huge crane. The story spirals into battles between rival martial‑arts factions, a fierce rivalry between the Crane Master’s two daughters, a corrupt master who gains power after swallowing half a secret scroll, and a clash with a gigantic tortoise whose spleen vapors cure poisoned swordsmen. Aerial duels against near‑invincible villains and stylized bloodshed punctuate the action.
