Suryanarayana Varma, known as Unni, is released from prison burdened by a royal lineage and haunted by a past that won’t let him go. Though he longs for redemption, the shadow of violence still follows him—a feud led by the ruthless Prabhakaran and his brothers within the Karimparakal clan. In a bid to cut his ties with bloodshed, Unni’s parents send him away to a law college in Chennai, hoping a formal path might steady his restless heart.

There, he crosses paths with Meenakshi, a bold and independent young woman who isn’t afraid to challenge him. Their first clashes grow into something deeper as her protective brother Siva and a rival named Muthu press in, yet a quiet bond begins to form between them. When her family later proposes marriage, it seems Unni’s life might finally pivot toward peace. But the past refuses to stay buried, and he must confront the shadow of an old, unfinished love.

Flashbacks reveal a time years earlier when Unni had fallen for Aswathy, a compassionate medical student from the very Karimparakal family that despised him. Orphaned and controlled by her uncles, Aswathy was promised to a cousin, Prakashan. A chance temple meeting, followed by an autorickshaw ride, drew her into Unni’s orbit. Although she initially rejected him and even betrayed him to her uncles, the brutal assault they endured strengthened his resolve, and she came to reciprocate his love against all odds.

Their union provoked furious backlash. In a violent clash with Prakashan, Unni delivers a fatal blow and is sentenced to five years in prison, ripped away from Aswathy. His father convinces him that she has married an NRI, steering him toward burying that love and moving on.

Yet fate has other plans. Just as Unni prepares to wed Meenakshi, a phone call shatters his resolve—Aswathy never moved on; she had waited. He races back to Kerala, where he reconnects with her and the two flee together. They are pursued by both Aswathy’s vengeful family and Meenakshi’s kin, and their path is unexpectedly shielded by the very autorickshaw drivers who once witnessed their forbidden romance.

Against a backdrop of blood feuds, betrayal, and a stubborn devotion that defies lineage, Unni and Aswathy choose love as their ultimate stand. Their marriage stands as a testimony to resilience, forged in fire, loss, and an unwavering commitment to each other.
