Kid with the Golden Arm

The government tasks Yang Hu Yun with escorting a cargo of gold to a famine-struck region. The mission is urgent and dangerous, setting the stakes for the journey ahead. The plan is simple but the risks are high as rival forces watch for an opportunity to hijack the cargo.

The Chi Sha gang proclaims their intention to hijack the gold shipment, signaling their willingness to kill one of Yang's employees to force a steal. Tension rises as Yang's unit realizes how ruthless their opposition will be. The threat foreshadows a dangerous cat-and-mouse pursuit across the route.

Yang explains Chi Sha's leadership by listing four chiefs: Golden Arm, Silver Spear, Iron Robe, and Brass Head, each with a unique fighting style. Their mastery promises a formidable challenge for Yang and his escort. The crew steels themselves, aware that every chief could turn the tide of battle.

To protect the gold, Yang hires a diverse team: swordsman Li Chin Ming, Ming's partner Miss Leng Feng, two axe specialists Long Axe Yang Jiu and Short Axe Fang Shih, and the drunken master Agent Hai Tao. Each brings distinct skills that will be crucial at different moments. The group prepares to travel, aware that trust will be tested.

On the way to meet Yang, Long Axe and Short Axe encounter the Seven Hooks gang and fight, each taking down three assailants. They refuse to kill more than the other, showcasing their rivalry even in combat. Finally, the two finish off the last gang member together, signaling their stubborn camaraderie.

Before they meet Yang, Leng faces Iron Robe on her own. Hai Tao arrives, defeats her attackers, and disappears before she can thank him. The mysterious act leaves Leng intrigued and curious about the drunken master’s true loyalties. Leng continues toward the meeting with Ming, unaware of what lies ahead.

Leng and Ming meet at a winery where Silver Spear, Brass Head, and several disguised Chi Sha members attack. Ming is poisoned by Sand Palm during the chaos, forcing a retreat. Hai Tao fights through guards, identifies the disguised owners as Silver Spear and Brass Head, and when they reveal themselves, they invite him to join their gang; he declines and leaves.

Ming walls off from Leng after an argument about medical help, insisting he remains focused on finishing the mission. He chooses to press on alone, driven by his stubborn resolve. Leng is left to pursue the objective without him, setting up potential tension within the group.

Brass Head bursts from a secret tunnel and is mortally wounded by Yang’s men, who are soon overwhelmed by Golden Arm’s invulnerability in an unarmed style. Golden Arm promises further vengeance on Brass Head’s behalf and sets off to catch up with his gang that stole the gold. Hai Tao uses a wheel pop to halt the wagon and kill Iron Robe, drawing Golden Arm’s interest for a duel.

Impressed by Hai Tao’s skill, Golden Arm becomes determined to face him. He leaves the wagon to be repaired and sets his sights on the drunken master. The clash between Hai Tao and Golden Arm becomes a turning point that reshuffles loyalties within the Chi Sha Gang.

Silver Spear defeats Ming, but Hai Tao rescues him, taking him to a crematory; the extreme heat revives Ming, who is ungrateful for owing his life to Hai Tao. As Yang’s men repair the wagon, traps are activated and poison kills several, forcing the group to realize the town they’ve entered is a trap. Hai Tao saves survivors from another deadly trap.

In the morning, two of Yang’s men die attempting to steal the gold, prompting Hai Tao to suspect Chi Sha’s broader scheme. He confronts Silver Spear in a new town, who gives him the ultimatum to join the gang or duel Golden Arm. Hai Tao chooses to duel and prepare for the impending clash.

Short Axe and Long Axe scout ahead and encounter Silver Spear. Silver Spear kills Long Axe with darts, sparking a furious response from Short Axe. As the duel intensifies, a gang member impales Short Axe, who then retaliates by killing the attacker; both Silver Spear and Short Axe die in a final exchange.

Ming’s tombs prompt a final clash in which Golden Arm defeats Ming. During a duel with Hai Tao, Golden Arm is blindsided when Hai Tao wounds him with wine, while Iron Feet bursts from the cart with Yang’s alliance revealed, killing Yang. Golden Arm and Hai Tao kill Iron Feet, and Golden Arm is mortally wounded by Leng Feng. Hai Tao escorts the gold away, getting drunk as he disappears with the fortune.
