A guy with a car full of exclusive Nike sneakers offers a deal. Brandon buys the pair for $150 and heads home feeling triumphant. The purchase marks the first step toward his risky dream.

The next day he wears the sneakers and shows them to Rico and Albert. They doubt him, so he spins a tall tale to back up his claim. The moment sets the stage for a social boost built on deception.

At the court, two girls approach and one invites Brandon to hang out later. Believing the sneakers are already working, he abandons his friends to get ready for a date. His rush foreshadows a dangerous overconfidence.

Flaco retaliates with a punch, and Rico and Albert arrive to help them walk away, leaving Brandon with a hard-won sense of strength.
