The aliens Thinna and Malla came to Earth specifically to find a talented artiste. Their planet has advanced scientifically but lacks art, music, and dance. When Thinna monitors performances on Earth, he is captivated by Vani's singing and concludes she is the perfect teacher to revive their cultural arts. He abducted her to bring her back and have her teach the alien population.

Earlier, Thinna and Malla discuss their mission to find someone gifted in the arts before they even land on Earth.

After killing Malla in a skirmish, Mohan discovered the alien preparing to return to his home world. When Thinna arrived to collect Malla's corpse, Mohan dragged the body into the ante-chamber and hid inside himself. Unaware of the stowaway, Thinna launched the ship with Mohan hidden inside. Mohan survived the journey and crash-landed on the alien planet.

Mohan's discovery of Malla preparing to leave Earth sets up the desperate opportunity for stowing away.

When Vani's father blamed Kannan for Vani's disappearance, Kannan went searching for her. He encountered Valli, a mentally deranged girl who bore a striking resemblance to Vani. Believing Valli was the real Vani, Kannan abducted her and brought her home. Vani's father, seeing the look-alike in distress, agreed to let Kannan marry her, not realizing it was a different person entirely.

Vani's disappearance creates the opportunity for Kannan's mistaken identity scheme.

Initially, Vani remained defiant and refused to cooperate. However, Princess Rajini showed her kindness and explained that Vani would be allowed to return to Earth once she taught them enough. Vani decided to share her art with the aliens, hoping this would help her eventually get back home while also preserving her identity through her craft.

The alien king promises Vani she will return after teaching them, providing the conditional motivation.

When Mohan crash-landed on the alien world, he encountered a benevolent jester who bore a striking resemblance to him. The jester was traveling toward the palace and became Mohan's guide. Shortly after, a meteor struck and killed the jester. Mohan then assumed the dead jester's identity and costume to blend in, allowing him to enter the palace unnoticed.

The resemblances between Earthlings and aliens have already been established when Thinna and Malla arrive looking human.

Once Mohan revealed his true identity to Vani in the palace, they worked together to outwit Thinna. They devised a plan to evade the alien guards and seized control of the technology or vessel needed for return. Their bond and Mohan's resourcefulness allowed them to overcome Thinna's schemes and make their way back to Earth.

Mohan's arrival in the palace creates the opportunity for the two lovers to combine their efforts against Thinna.

Kannan's crime was eventually exposed. He was arrested by police for his actions against Valli, the mistaken kidnapping and subsequent harm he caused the mentally deranged girl. His deceit and violent behavior caught up with him, and he faced legal consequences for his crimes.

Kannan's greedy and manipulative nature throughout the story sets up his inevitable downfall.

Thinna believed Vani was exactly what his civilization needed to revive their lost artistic traditions. Since their planet had advanced in science but neglected the arts, Vani's exceptional talent in music and dance represented an invaluable cultural treasure. Thinna was willing to go to great lengths, including abduction, to ensure she taught their people.

Valli, a mentally deranged girl who resembled Vani, was kidnapped by Kannan who believed she was his cousin. Her father agreed to Kannan's marriage proposal thinking Valli was the real Vani. The tragic situation left Valli trapped in a marriage she did not choose, until Kannan's crimes were eventually exposed and he was arrested.

The striking physical resemblance between Vani and Valli is established early as the key to the mistaken identity plot.

This cultural void is why they sent Thinna and Malla to Earth, to find a talented artiste who could teach their people and revive their artistic spirit.
