Instead of the intended trip back to the 12th century, Thibault and André find themselves awakened in modern-day Chicago. They are thrown into utter confusion amid their unfamiliar surroundings.

As they navigate the modern world, Thibault and André mistake cars for dragons and create chaos in a museum that resembles Thibault's castle. Their antics ultimately lead to their arrest as they struggle to adapt to contemporary life.

In the museum, Thibault meets Julia Malefete, an employee who looks strikingly like Rosalind. As they engage in conversation, Julia is drawn to Thibault's family crest, connecting him to her own family lineage.
