Elaine Bradford is an ambitious young singer‑and‑dancer desperate for her big break, while Peter Carlton, a gossip columnist, scrambles to meet a deadline. To spark a story, Peter invents the exotic “Mrs. Smythe‑Smythe,” a daring Englishwoman famous for hunting tigers in India and leaping from airplanes. With no one in London having met the mysterious figure, Elaine decides to pose as the glamorous impostor, hoping the publicity will launch her career. Their scheme spirals into a lively romance filled with dance, comedy, and mistaken identities.
