The story takes place on two South Sea islands. On one lives a starving, shipwrecked Aardvark; on the other an army of edible Ants, which he spots through his spyglass. To reach the ants he must swim across, but a hostile shark blocks the way. After a failed attempt, he grabs a surfboard, only for the shark to devour it like newspaper.
