In feudal Japan, where foreign trade is forbidden, a desperate idealist arrives at a remote inn that serves as the smugglers' headquarters. He carries stolen money he hopes to use to ransom his beloved, who has been forced into a brothel. The inn becomes the focal point of his risky plan.
