The revelation shatters Esther, who confronts Renata and Luis. Renata responds by filing a criminal complaint for concubinage against Esther and Luis. During the trial, Luis admits to having sexual relations with Renata, and Renata acknowledges that she is widowed and had sought sexual fulfillment that had been denied since her husband’s death.
