In early 1939, Mrs. Bromley and Jennifer travel to Poland to buy antiques for a London shop. Jennifer meets Count Stephen; they enjoy wine, dining and city sights, and fall in love. Despite his family’s opposition, Stephen intercepts her at the train station and they marry. They convert the farm with tractors, but Germany’s invasion sparks war.
