Set in the Joseon Dynasty, Ryung pretends to be a low‑tier market thug by day, but by night becomes Iljimae, a Robin‑hood‑style robber who steals from corrupt officials and leaves a plum‑tree branch as his signature. Martial‑arts swindler Bong Soon is devoted to Ryung, while Eun‑Chae, an official’s daughter, falls for Iljimae, sparking a love triangle with an Imperial Guard.
