Ling Xiuzhen and her grandson navigate a generational divide, living in separate cities and yearning for connection. As the Labour Day Holiday approaches, they decide to visit their hometown of Zhujiajiao, a traditional water town where Ling Xiuzhen once founded a Chinese restaurant. Now retired and living in Shanghai with her grandson, she occasionally reflects on the future and whether he will continue the family tradition by taking over the restaurant. The visit offers them a chance to reconnect and explore their shared heritage.
