An unclaimed fortune that has been accruing for centuries in a British bank account becomes a potential windfall for Bernadito Castiñeiras and the inhabitants of the tiny Cuban village of Yaragüey. To claim the massive inheritance, Bernadito must prove his lineage to the Castiñeiras nuns who first settled the area. In this isolated, impoverished town where many share the same surname, a rivalry erupts between the Castiñeiras and Castiñeyras families.
