HollyBlood (2022) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

In the final act, the teenagers finally confront the true vampire behind the recent disappearances. Antonio “Pelofrito” Caldera, the boy who was turned in the 1980s, returns to school hoping to find the creature that cursed him – he wants to end his endless teenage existence and become human again. The group discovers that the feared “Azrael” is not a mysterious newcomer at all, but Sister Learza, a nun who has been feeding on girls and using their blood to stay alive.

Armed with Antonio’s blood, the friends decide to become vampires themselves so they can match Learza’s strength. They lure her to a makeshift pool of holy water and, just as they are about to drown her, she transforms into a strikingly beautiful woman who tries to hypnotize them. The spell fails on Sara and Javi, who remain clear‑headed. In that moment Javi throws away his disguise, declares his love for Sara, and leaps into the water with Learza. The scene seems to show him turning to ash alongside the monster, but he emerges from the pool alive and breathing, while Learza is finally destroyed.
