Four young men—Henry, Toft, Tam and Klausen—board a train to Maribo and end up at a prison gate. All are serving sentences for drunk‑driving and feel embarrassed, though each can give a plausible excuse for the “accident.” Claiming they are “almost innocent,” they decide to treat their compulsory stay as a voluntary vacation and make the best of it. While incarcerated they pass the days with routines, jokes and a hope of early release.
