In 1937, the Nazi regime staged contrasting exhibitions in Munich: one denouncing "Degenerate Art," which was looted and destroyed, and another showcasing "Classic Art," personally selected by Hitler. This documentary explores the complex relationship between the Nazis and both classical and modern art, featuring works by Botticelli, Klee, Matisse, Monet, Chagall, Renoir, and Gauguin. Through a combination of history, art, and personal stories from a pivotal era, the film reveals a state-of-the-art investigation into the regime's fascination with creative expression.
