While palace chroniclers laboriously record the virtuous deeds and daily life of King Matthias, the monarch slips away in disguise. He abandons a tedious reception for imperial deputies and papal legates, opting instead to pursue the affection of three charming women from the village of Szelistye, turning the night into a discreet adventure.
