Hot‑headed laborer B.J. Hammer is constantly looking for a fight. After a spectacular showdown at work catches attention, top boxing manager Davis recruits him for a promising career in the ring. When Hammer learns Davis expects him to throw matches and engage in other illegal schemes, he erupts, sparking a violent clash with the syndicate.
