Based on Tohru Fujisawa’s manga, the live‑action series follows former biker‑gang member Eikichi Onizuka (Takashi Sorimachi), who takes a substitute teaching job in the struggling town of Horobonai. With a dubious teaching degree and a fearless attitude, he clashes with students and staff, but his unorthodox methods, blunt humor and willingness to stand up for the youth gradually revitalize the community and inspire the disheartened teenagers.
