In 1970s Cologne, banker Iwan Herstatt and his institution seem incredibly successful, largely due to a group of ambitious young currency traders. Known as the "gold boys," these traders are instrumental in generating impressive financial results for the bank, contributing to a period of apparent prosperity and rapid growth. Their activities and the bank's success, however, mask underlying complexities and potential risks.
