On February 5 2004 in Morecambe Bay, twenty-three migrant workers die. Ai Qin pays $25,000 to be smuggled into the UK to support her family in China. She shares a two‑bedroom house with eleven other Chinese laborers, working in food factories for British supermarkets. Unprotected and desperate, they die in the cold waters of Morecambe Bay.
