Set at the dawn of the twentieth century, the narrative moves from a humble Ukrainian village on the Dnieper River to the sun‑drenched shores of Florida. Though threaded with irony, romance and occasional mysticism, the film lays bare the harsh realities and bittersweet sacrifices of Ukrainian emigrants seeking a new life in America.
