Following the death of his wife, Patrick plans to end his own life, but his childhood friend Malte unexpectedly reappears after three decades. Malte hopes to rekindle their friendship, yet Patrick is initially resistant, confronting him about his long absence. As they spend a day and night together at Patrick's parents' home, the place of their youth, long-held tensions and unspoken truths surface. By morning, both men are profoundly changed, and their lives will never be the same.
