A sweeping family saga in which a Bavarian widow’s three sons go to war for Germany, while her fourth son emigrates to America, which later becomes Germany’s opponent. The film was preserved in 1999 by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with L’Immagine Ritrovata and Twentieth Century Fox.
