Set in the 1950s, four siblings—Anne, a prim little housewife, the rough‑hewn George, who is oddly attached to his dog Timmy, and their brothers Dick and Julian, whose bond hints at something beyond brotherly—embark on a cycling holiday through Dorset. Their keen knack for sleuthing, combined with their snobbery and xenophobic attitudes, leads them to expose and have a series of dubious locals apprehended.
