In 2005, Barão and Carla hatch a daring plan to dig a tunnel from an old house into the Banco Central vault in Fortaleza. They recruit a tight-knit crew—Mineiro, Doutor, Tatu, Caetano, Saulo, Décio, Firmino, and Léo—to handle the digging, security, and logistics. The operation is designed to make a lasting mark on the city and force the authorities to reckon with them.

Barão obtains crucial security intelligence from Moacir, giving him inside knowledge of the bank and its guards. With this information, he choreographs every maneuver once the tunnel is opened. The plan hinges on precise timing and coordinated actions from the whole crew.

An old house is established as the main operations HQ, while a second site beneath a fake turf company masks the digging. The front company is crafted to appear legitimate, diverting attention from the hidden tunnel. The crew rehearses escape routes and contingencies for any setback.

Devanildo becomes secretary for the fake company, drawn to the project by faith but gradually pulled into the scheme. His role grows as the plans progress and the operation tightens its grip on him. He witnesses the preparations up close before the dig begins.

Sheriff Amorim and his assistant Telma start tracing the heist back to the Banco Central and the fake company. They interview arrested gang members and piece together the operation, tightening the net as the date approaches. The case gains momentum as investigators connect the dots.

On August 6, 2005, three months after planning, the team reaches the vault and seizes 164 million reais. Barão, Carla, and Mineiro move the cash to their HQ, with each member pocketing roughly 2 million reais. When Saulo protests the distribution, Barão shoots him to keep control of the operation.

To throw authorities off the scent, Barão plants a large bundle of money inside a car loaded onto an autorack bound for São Paulo. Police stop the autorack and arrest its driver, wrongly convinced that the entire haul has been shipped away. The misdirection buys crucial time for the gang.

Léo is visited by former colleagues Robson and Vágner, who have learned of his wealth and push him to cooperate. He agrees to betray the others to ease his own risk, and investigators zero in on Décio as a potential vault locator. The alliance cracks the gang's cohesion from within.

When Décio refuses to reveal the vault’s location, Léo shoots him, severing a key link in the chain. A few kids later discover Décio’s stash buried in his yard, exposing another thread of the operation. The net tightens as authorities close in on loose ends.

Carla and Barão argue over how to spend the loot, and she leaves him to return to the former HQ where Mineiro now resides. The relationship fractures under the pressure of the heist's success and the mounting scrutiny. The operation loses its unified front as personal tensions rise.

Amorim visits Caetano after he tries to buy a mansion with old R$50 bills—the same bills stolen in the heist—and Caetano is cuffed. The investigation narrows to members who handled the cash or attempted to launder it. The police press the gang for answers as the net tightens.

Devanildo confesses to a priest, admitting he earned a fortune by associating with people who did not follow the Lord’s words. The priest urges him to donate everything, but Devanildo keeps a portion for himself. On the way back from church, a police officer recovers some of the money and Devanildo is arrested and interrogated.

Firmino is arrested, initially denying he is Barão. Barão’s lawyer, Daniel Filho, pressures him into a false confession to shield Barão and complicate the investigation for law enforcement. The case edges toward its ultimate confrontation.

Mineiro summons the remaining members for a final regroup, but Barão confronts him about a supposed romance with Carla. Detective Martinho, hired to monitor the crew, keeps a close eye on their moves as the net closes. Tense planning gives way to the inevitable crackdown.

Special forces storm the old HQ and arrest Mineiro, Léo, Tatu, and Carla, while the rest of the circle is rounded up. Telma becomes Amorim’s replacement as the investigation winds down. In a final, quiet moment, Barão blends into the crowd of photographers and shares a smile with Carla, watched by a perplexed Amorim.
