Clive de Roo, a scientist, detects a previously unknown seismic source beneath Auckland’s Gulf of Waitemata, warning that a volcanic eruption could strike within days. Skeptical colleagues dismiss him, while a radio broadcast fuels public ridicule. His ambitious wife worries the alarm will scare investors from the company he works for, prompting a race to prove the threat and mitigate disaster.
