Eaten by Lions

Pete and Omar survive a fatal hot air balloon crash in a safari park, and their parents are eaten by lions. Their grandmother steps in to raise them, giving them a sense of family. When she dies, she leaves Omar secrets about his father that will shape his journey.

Aunt Ellen and Uncle Ken tell them they want to adopt Peter but not Omar, who is half Indian. Omar takes this as a snub and heads to gram's old apartment, with Pete following close behind.

Omar announces a trek to Blackpool to search for his estranged father, and Pete decides to join him. They arrive in Blackpool, where Omar meets a pink-haired traveler named Amy along the way.

Arriving with little money, the brothers are quickly broke when their cash is washed away by the tide. They seek help and Amy leads them to Ray's guesthouse, where he offers them free lodging.

At the pier they spread Gram's ashes and try to connect with Malik's family. They learn that Irfan gave Omar's mother the name Malik, which complicates their past, and they are invited to Nadia's engagement luncheon.

During the meal, Parveen – Malik's second daughter – seems mute but flirts with Pete. Saftar, the family patriarch, arrives and punishes Irfan for falsely using Malik's name and fathering a son.

Parveen follows Pete to the upstairs bathroom and reveals she is not mute, explaining she wants to stay invisible to her family 'like a ninja'. She stops flirting when her father appears.

Back at Ray's, Omar sneaks out to meet Amy at the pier and remembers how their aunt and uncle only wanted Pete. The bond between Omar and Amy grows as they walk along the shore.

When Omar returns, Pete is angry, convinced he has been abandoned. Ray confronts Omar, and Omar apologizes, promising he won't disappear again.

The next day Irfan takes them out in Blackpool to see the family's Pakistani-Indian shop, the arcade, and a show of drag performers, giving them a glimpse of the wider world.

Omar and Pete stay over at Saftar's so Irfan can bond with his son. Pete wakes to Parveen cuddling him in bed, prompting Pete to scream; Omar loses his temper, accusing Pete of being a burden.

Ellen and Ken arrive, and Omar is turned out; the racist aunt says they’ll leave without him. Amy comforts Omar at the pier. Irfan arrives with a key to his annex and helps Pete escape, offering room in the annex.

Nadia's wedding brings together the whole cast—the colourful assortment of characters finally gathers, hinting at a future where family and chosen family stay connected.
