Late at night, siblings KONG Xianyun and her younger brother Yuanyuan flee their family home and seek refuge in an abandoned school. There, Yuanyuan is flooded with vivid memories—the sounds of books, piano music, and laughter—before being consumed by a recurring vision of fire. Adapted from WANG Jinkang’s acclaimed novella, The Song of Life, this speculative short explores the future of artificial intelligence and delves into themes of family trauma, set against a haunting atmosphere and underscored by a mysterious piano melody.
