Born into a large, impoverished family in Kahramanmaraş, Dilber Ay faced considerable hardship from a young age, beginning her life in a tent. At thirteen, she was married to an older man for financial reasons, and they had children together. Despite enduring beatings and torture for singing, she persevered, drawing strength from her remarkable voice to achieve success on stage. Her journey included time spent in prison, but she consistently found resilience and a way to overcome adversity through her music.
