Set during World War II, the film is a light‑hearted farce tracking a ragtag ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association) troupe that has just arrived from the music‑hall circuit. As they travel from one army base to another, their well‑meaning but chaotic attempts to stage shows for the troops lead to a series of comic blunders and mishaps.
