After a clash with a right‑wing extremist lands him on probation and ends his engineering studies, Bernhard works as a Munich warehouse clerk. He meets Johanna, whose wealthy family includes a developer father and a diplomat brother. To share his roots, he takes her to Prague, where he lived until the war’s end, despite her father’s opposition to Eastern‑Bloc travel. Discovering that his chance to develop new technology—and his career boost—depends on Johanna’s father, he becomes upset.
