Dead Stop

Captain Archer and Commander Tucker inspect the Enterprise's damaged hull and systems. They determine repairs would take months, and decide to seek outside help.

Archer orders Ensign Sato to broadcast a general distress call. A Tellarite freighter replies with garbled data that includes coordinates to a repair facility. Archer weighs the risks of a quick fix.

The coordinates point to an automated repair facility three days away at Warp 2, promising a faster fix. The crew hopes this could save months of downtime.

On arrival, the facility performs a precise scan and rapidly configures itself to repair the Enterprise. The ship docks and the facility presents a steep repair price.

The station demands 200 liters of warp plasma as payment. Archer agrees, though he suspects something is off.

Tucker and Reed attempt to access the station's computer through a ventilation duct. An alarm sounds and they are beamed back to the Enterprise. Archer's temper flares, and he confines them to their quarters for the duration of the stay.

A counterfeit message, posing as from Archer, lures Mayweather to a repair area. Mayweather is found dead, described as an electrical shock, and Phlox concludes the corpse is a flawless replica. Archer vows to locate the real Mayweather.
