Three years prior to the story's beginning, a massive spaceship appears over Tokyo, initiating a conflict with seemingly benevolent aliens. This unusual and tragic event sparks debate and pacifist movements. Despite the ongoing war, high school girls Koyama Kadode and Nakagawa Ouran navigate their lives as if nothing has changed, maintaining their normal routines. The narrative shifts focus away from the alien invasion to explore themes of human nature, interpersonal relationships, and the challenges of growing up.
